Bakery Supervisor

We are looking for a full time bakery supervisor for our main bakery. 

It will be a mixture of day and nightshifts with around 1 week of nights to 3-4 weeks of days. It is approx 40-45hrs per week over 5 days,  salary is negotiable depending on experience. 28 days holiday per annum and pension scheme provided. We also give staff a weekly veg box and discounts in all our shops, bread, pastries & good coffee are also part of the perks. 

You must have 2 years experience minimum in a bakery and some experience of kitchen supervising or management is a bonus. You need to be trained in haccp and comfortable directing a shift, instructing staff, monitoring work and cleaning when a manager isn’t in. 

We are a scratch bakery in Edinburgh producing sourdough and slowly fermented pastries. We operate 7 days a week with both day and night shifts. Our day shifts weigh mix and shape our doughs as well as laminating and shaping all our viennoiserie.  We also make any jams, frangipanes, ricotta’s etc which are needed during the day. Our nightshift is where all products are baked off finished and packed and we are also looking to add in some breads like baguettes to this shift. 

We are looking for someone to come and join our team who will share our ethos of simple stuff made well. Knowing where all our ingredients come from, using as many local and small scale suppliers as possible. We work with multiple small mills for our flour and we use local cultured butter in our pastries. It is important to us to be working with the community around us.

We are looking for a full time bakery assistant manager 

It will be predominantly day shifts but weekends are a must. It is approx 40-45hrs per week Wednesday – Sunday.  Salary is negotiable, 28days holiday and pension scheme. We also give staff a weekly veg box and discounts in all our shops, bread, pastries & good coffee are also part of the perks. 

You must have 3 years experience minimum in a bakery and experience at a supervisor level or above. You need to be trained in haccp and comfortable directing a shift, instructing staff, monitoring work and cleaning.

Easter Road Bakery Manager

We are looking for a full time bakery manager to come and run our Easter Road bakery, our newest site amongst our 5 Edinburgh shops. Our shop here has a kitchen which produces both cakes, tarts and savoury options, the savoury side is run by our chef/manager but the teams work together with pastry making puff and focaccia for them to use.  

This is currently a small team with a limited range of sweet baked goods, but we are hoping when we find the right person that we will then be able to grow this section of the business – utilising it to produce cakes and tarts etc for the rest of our shops. 

We are looking for someone with a minimum of 2 years experience making cakes, tarts, bars, jams, caramels, custards etc as well as at least 1 year in a manager or supervisor role. You must have experience with EHO and running a kitchen, you will be in charge of making sure that everything is clean and organised with all paperwork filled in. You also need to be comfortable working to production schedules, writing menus and ensuring there is a balanced offering available each day as well as training other staff members and ensuring everything is kept to a high standard.

Duke Street Chef 

We are looking for a full time kitchen manager and chef for our Duke Street cafe. 

Our Duke Street site is one of our 5 retail sites in Edinburgh where we produce, jams, caramels, granola and ricotta for retail, as well as frittatas, sandwiches and daily take away specials to order.

We have a strong emphasis on local and seasonal ingredients as well as using sourdough breads and slow ferment pastries from our main bakery. 

The shifts will vary from week to week, but weekend availability is essential, approx 45hrs per week. Salary is negotiable dependent on experience, 28 days holiday/annum and pension scheme included. We also give staff a weekly veg box and discounts in all our shops, bread, pastries & good coffee are also part of the perks. 

You must be trained in haccp and comfortable directing a shift, scheduling, managing and placing stock orders, working to service and cleaning. You will be part of a small team in that site, but with the support of a wider company team, so being able to work self directed on solo kitchen shifts is a must.
